Finally...after nearly 11 months of absence, (gosh, i don't even think anyone's been reading my blog anymore) Never mind that, i've been really lazy to blog for the past ,er...few months. Anyways, just came back from our trip to Singapore...we were extremely lucky this time, Dad got us hotel rooms in Novotel, situated at the heart of Clark Quay. It was amazingg...!! sorry, no pics of the hotel room due to my cacat camera..I shud really get a new cam, anyway, the hotel room had a great view of Clarke Quay, we could even see the wheel of sing from our balcony! Anyway, on the first night in Singapore, we wanted to eat at one of the Restaurants in Clarke Quay, but it was raining cats and dogs. So we had no choice but to eat in Liang Court, which is below Novotel. Liang Court was a mall which catered for lots of japanese patrons, it has lots of Japanese shops, food and goods. Even the food court had nothing but japanese food! The mall was packed, and all the restaurants were swamped, there was an extremely loong queue in front of one of them. In the end, we settled for a restaurant called Botejyu- never heard of it before..They had these weird dishes called okonomiyaki. We ordered the signature Midnight Special (S$14). It's got the works - pork, squid and prawns, and is topped with a runny egg and covered with bonito shavings. We also tried the pork yakisoba (S$10.80) as well as the cheese and prawn Okos. These dishes were pretty bizarre, and weird cos i've never tasted them before. It was certainly something different.

The menu..

I didnt take any pics there, so i got this of the net- the yakisoba

i think this one's the cheese and prawn okos

You could observe the chefs at work..
Next morning, had breakfast at McD's in Liang Court. I've always loved singapore's McD's, cos they always hv something interesting to add to the menu. Quite unlike malaysia's McD's. Its wasnt a surprise when they came out with McGriddles!! I tried them, of coarse, they looked so tempting! Basically, its like sausage and egg Mcmuffin, but this time, they replaced the muffin with griddle cakes(bit like pancakes) infused with syrup. yumm!!

After breakfast, went to check out colleges. First, drove down to little India to check out NAFA and La Salle, which were close by. La Salle has an impressive campus, a green lawn greeted us when we set foot there. Sadly, it was fake grass, what a pity! NAFA's campus was slighty less impressive, but the courses offered there were pretty good, I found the fine arts course very interesting. Then we went on to Nanyang polytechnics, which was pretty dissapointing...sure, they had a big campus, but the classrooms were so enclosed, the corridors were grey and looked dull and boring. reminded me of a hospital. Yikes! can u imagine studying there? Next up was Temasek Polytechnics, by far, I think it is the best. It has a huge campus, lotsa facilities, good courses and fresh air. The campus grounds is complete with cafeteria, gallery, a swimming pool and even a koi pond! (i'm sure Cheri would go crazy over it) It is pretty near Tampines mall as well as a beach! whee! The next few days we went shopping, much to dad's impatience, went to Taka, Tangs and John little. They were havin this "Mr. men and Little Miss" craze in Singapore now, and i quickly caught up with the craze. What's not to love?! They're so cute! They were selling the t-shirts everywhere, must be becos of christmas :) I bought a few from Bossini.

It's Mr. Bump! I bought a Mr. Bump tee as well...

At night, we took a stroll around Clarke Quay, you won't believe how beautiful it is at night! I loved the colorfull lights, the shops and the reflections cast across the river. It was truly amazing, a wonderfull spot to paint, haha :) However, there were lots of clubs and pubs around the area, which I am not liking very much, you get people dressed to go clubbing, men in fedoras clucthing women's handbags, smoke and lotsa drunks. Definately not someplace for young girls. Aside from that, just enjoying the scenery and the "art" is simply fine. I will be posting pictures soon!
